We are saddened by the death of local botanist Nan Sykes, who died earlier this month at the age of 96.
The wonderful Nan Sykes, who was a friend to so many in NYMA and beyond, died in early February at the age of 96. She spent most of her working life botanising in north-east Yorkshire, and has left a wonderful legacy in the form of books, a photographic archive and species records. We look forward to working with others to take her legacy forward into the future by making much of her work publicly available.
