The 2019 review of protected landscapes has met with a luke-warm response from the National Park Authority
Last year's review of the English & Welsh protected areas system has met with a mixed response from the North York Moors National Park Authority. Whilst welcoming some of the ideas put forward, the NPA's chief criticisms are that the review team seemed unaware of some important aspects of how national parks operate, and that costly proposals for change haven't been supported with realistic sources of additional funding. Sadly, the coronavirus crisis now makes it even less likely that the proposals will be put into operation any time soon. Read the Yorkshire Post's article on the NPA's response here.
